# Send a notification

> Send an inbox and push notification to a member, as your app.

> Reintersect apps are in developer preview. Names and limits can still change before general
> release.

Sends a notification to one member through Reintersect's inbox and push pipeline, attributed to your
app. Answers `202 Accepted`.

Authenticate with an install token that has the `notifications:write` scope. A development install may
only notify its developer.

## Body

| `memberId` | `string` | Yes | A member of the install's workspace. |
| `text` | `string` | Yes | At most 280 characters of plain text. |
| `link` | `string` | No | An `https://` URL to open from the notification. |

An app sends at most 60 notifications a minute, counting `notify` results from actions.

## Errors

| `_tag` | Status | Cause |
| - | - | - |
| `ReintersectAppScopeMissingError` | 403 | The install lacks `notifications:write`. |
| `ReintersectAppMemberNotFoundError` | 404 | No such member, or a development install notifying someone else. |
| `ReintersectApiRateLimitExceededError` | 429 | Over 60 a minute. |

With the SDK, call `reintersect.notifications.send({ memberId, text, link })`.
