# Sync the development app

> Create or update your personal development app and its development install.

> Reintersect apps are in developer preview. Names and limits can still change before general
> release.

`reintersect dev` and `reintersect deploy --preview` call this endpoint. It finds your development app
for the manifest's slug in this workspace, creating it the first time with a random suffix on the slug.
Then it syncs the manifest as a preview and makes sure your development install exists and runs it.

Authenticate with a member API key or an agent builder token. Deploy tokens are refused.

## Query

## Errors

| `ReintersectAppDevSlugUnavailableError` | 409 | No free slug could be found. |
| `ReintersectAppDeployTargetForbiddenError` | 403 | A deploy token. |
| `ReintersectAppManifestInvalidError`, `ReintersectAppPatternInvalidError` | 422 | As for [Sync a manifest](/api-reference/deploy/manifest-sync#errors). |
